Knit Wit

Here's a good yarn about Cari Clement (Montpelier, Vermont): The 55-year-old former co-owner of a knitting-machine company delivered 90 knitting machines to refugees living in Rwandan camps and taught them how to knit. In turn, they trained another 400 knitters. Now the refugees sell clothing both in Rwanda and the U.S. During the past year, one group of 30 women earned $3,000 - learning a skill that will enable them to earn a living for years to come.
